Flaming Hair and Blazing Eyes

I have always wanted a Shana figures, but my attempt to get one that I like was met with failure. I was interested in getting Shana ceremony version by Toy’sworks but she was sold out before I can get my hand on her. While I was contemplating on whether to get Kotobukiya 1/6 Shana that was on sale at the time, Max Factory announce they’ll be release a Shana figure as well and one look at the prototype, I know this is the perfect Shana for me ^^. So I was kinda glad that I didn’t get the Toy’sworks version or the Kotobukiya version, after all I try not to get multiple figures of the same character, except for Saber that is XD.

This Shana was sculpted by Takahiro Hashimoto based on illustration by Noizi Ito, you can find the illustration in the art book Ito Noizi Art Collection KA-E-N.

This is another prop less shoot, I wanted to emphasize the hair and I kinda feel a prop less shoot will be better for that. So what so special the hair, well it’s made of some sort of transparent plastic that kinda glows, like flaming hair. There’s a lot of things I like about this Shana, the hair, the oh so Shana pose, well this figure is just so Shana.

Try to take a close-up of Alastor, but without a macro lens it failed *sigh*.

I think I try to emphasize the hair too much that I forgot all about composition and angles XD.

Nietono no Shana, putting the katana through her hair and into her hand is not for the faint hearted. I keep feeling that I might break the katana in half if I push too hard but fortunately that didn’t happen.

Blazing Eyes. Shana is also known as Slayer with Flaming Hair and Blazing Eyes “Enpatsu Shakugan no Uchite”.

Decide to try taking one HDR shot, hmm not sure if it came out the way I wanted but looks kinda cool though ^^.

This is the perfect representation of Shana, for me at least. Max Factory did a great job on the sculpt and the colors, and the hair is just great. I was afraid that they might screw up the hair but fortunately they didn’t. For more great photos of Shana, check out super rats’ Shana, Flame Haze pics, and shino’s 「灼眼のシャナ」.

Nice job… like the BG. Bought this MF figure now I’m getting rid of my other 2 Shana’s from Toys Work. :)

  2. JB says:

Oops, is it called toys work? sorry didn’t realize I mixed it up with your blog name. It’s the company that makes the figures with the really glossy decal ed eyes.

  3. shinohai says:

Sweet figure definitely, gratz on finally getting a Shana, and one that you’re absolutely happy with as well ^_^

Thankfully the sword didn’t break for any of us ^^; Would have been so painful if the sword broke T_T

  4. JB says:

Is the sword pre-attached or do you have to put it in? Mine is about to be processed to ship EMS :)

  6. AS says:

Very nice with the focus being on Shana, the background doesn’t take much away from her. There are so many great pictures of her coming out, makes me keep wondering if I will immediately buy her if I see her in a store.

@JB~Tried a few bg, but this seems to work the best for me :) . haha yeah the company is Toy’sworks, my blog is Toys Workz :P , confusing eh hehe. You’ll need to attached the sword yourself, you’ll see a hole on her hair for the sword to slide through
@shino~yup definitely my fav Shana hehe, not much can top this Shana for me^^. haha yeah, I dunno what I’ll do if the sword broke

Hey there saw your pictures on Anime Figurines Group and now I’ve bumped into your blog entry here! People are getting me tempted to get that Shana figure now, and it’s quite a bit of money too if I am to get one…

I’ve seen someone putting a Max Factory Haruhi next to a Max Factory Shana, and it’s quite interesting because both are like pointing their fingers at you.

You think I should go get it? Oh that means I gotta kiss some money goodbye T_T

  14. valho says:

@aya~thanks, haha hmm I nvr thought of that, both of them are pointing their fingers, would make a nice shot together ^^
@Q~hi there, well I would say yes of course, to me she’s the best Shana ever made ^^

  15. Tammie says:

    I ordered her today…and now I want that Kotobukiya one of her in the bathing suit. It seems to have the same hair. Ugh. I don’t want to wait until Feb….I’ll forget about it! But I don’t like preordering… ^^;;;

  16. valho says:

@tammie~congrats on getting her :) Kotobukiya Shana looks nice too, but had to skip her though, trying not to get too many figures of the same character :)

  17. Tammie says:

I don’t like too many of the same either (not that I have that many) but I figure the different pose and outfit will be good enough. It looks like it has that see through hair too :0

  18. valho says:

@tammie~but I am quilty of having lots of saber ^^. she quite nice really, I am still tempted to get her, well will have to see whether I can keep myself from buying her when she’s release. yeah the hair is see through as well, hope it’s as good as max fac’s
