Rig upgrade

Since my main rig motherboard decide to die on my suddenly, I decided to take the plunge and get a partially new rig instead of just changing the motherboard. The current mobo I am using is a socket 939 mobo anyway which is not in production anymore.

Got myself a C2D E8400, an Asus P5QL-E mobo, 2 x 2GB Kingston PC-6400 DDR2-800, a Seagate 500GB HDD, a Raidmax Smilodon ATX Mid-Tower and SilverStone Strider ST50F 500w ATX to power the whole thing up. Will salvage my graphic card, DVD writer and 2 more HDD from my old rig. Oh got a OCZ Vanguisher for processor cooling as well.

Decided to clear my table up while waiting for my casing to arrive, gonna be rearranging the wires and all. Here’s a before after look of my current table.

My finish rig, well almost finish since I plan to change the DVD writer and video card later when I have the budget, for now this should serve me well. The figures that use to be on top of my rig is now temporary behind my laptop xD.

    Oh dying motherboard… oh noes.

    I had to switch to a newer system a year ago (my PC is 1 year old today) beacuse of problems with my Socket 939 system.

    The P5QL-E is a quiet good solution, buying a expensiv Socket 775 wouldn’t be intelligent now, as it will be outdated in a few months.

    Which graphics card are you using?

    Well, designing or making a new comp is always good.

    @hikky~my was 2 years plus before the mobo died. Since I wanted a more budget system, the P5QL-E fits since its quite cheap. Still using nvidia 8600 at the moment

    @Sora~LOL ATI and Quaz was telling me go Nvidia
    @Saku~thanks ^_^, yeah the 8600 i still pretty good

    I shall never go back to Intel nor Nvidia.. they are the dark side.. :p

    besides.. read the reviews.. and you shall find ATI has regained the speed crown through 4870 X2

    Quaz is a nvidia fanboy.. and I am a ATI fan boy.. so don’t listen to us.. listen to reviews..
