XBMC + new headphone
Been using Zoomplayer and lately Media Player Classic Home Cinema to watch my animes/movies for quite sometime, so decided to try something else recently. I have always been looking for some media software that I can I can use to manage as well as view my collections of animes and movies. Since I am running on Windows XP, Windows Media Centre (WMC) is out of the question since it doesn’t come as a separate installer for Windows XP, you need to get Windows XP Media Centre Edition instead.
After some googling and checking out HTPC forum one the kind of software they use for media management and viewing, decided to give XBMC a try. Xbox owner would be quite familiar with XBMC, since it started out as a 3rd party media player for the first generation Xbox console. Now it’s available in WIndows, Linux and Mac OS. Been playing around with it for the past few days, and after some tweaking here and there, I pretty much got it just the way I want it to be.
More screenies after the jump…
Currently using Aeon theme for my XBMC and decided to change most of the menu backgrounds. Of all the theme I seen Aeon theme is the one I like best. Had problem using it initially since it doesn’t show mouse pointer since it was made to be use with a remote or keyboard only. After using it for the past few days, finally got the hang of controlling it using just my keyboard.
Added the animes that’s still in my HDD to the library and the software will automatically check TheTVDB.com for information on each of your animes. Had a bit of problem with the naming though, especially those that I use the romanji of the Japanese title. For those I had to manually search for the correct title to get the info. Also getting info for each episode is a problem too, since the site list episode by using season and episode number, while my collection is just listed by episode number. Would need to rename a whole lot of files if I want to be able to load the episode info automatically so decided to leave it as it is.
Movies was easier and got it working without much of a hassle.
A nice screen to display the movie information.
Now I have all my movies, animes and tv shows loaded into XBMC library, so with just a button press on my keyboard I get a nice interface to access all my collections ^_^. The one thing I haven’t try is whether I can add anime/movies store in external storage to the library as well, it’ll be great if I can, something to try out later.
Steelseries 5H v2
Now to show off my new headphone, actually nothing much to show off, it’s not one of those expensive high end headphone. If I not mistaken this is the second headphones that I own that cost a few hundred bucks, the first was a Koss. Decided to go for the Steelseries 5H v2, mostly due to it having a mic that can be extended and retracted and of course the headphone itself does sounds pretty good as well. I am not an audiophile so can’t say how good it is, but it suits my needs ^_^.
The headphone itself can be disassemble for easier transportation, and I have extended the mic for this shot as well.
Shana seems to be having fun lying there ^_^

glad you like ur new headphone
Always wanted to get a good set of earphones but every time I look at the prices I almost get a heart attack XD
Thx for all the info you sent me through flickr btw ^_^
Oh btw, when your listening to music in there, how the heck do you pause or stop it? Movies are easy, but music…it seems I’m missing something here.
@Quazacolt~yeah for me that one pretty high end already haha
@Belela-san~need one for my late nite movie watching and gaming ^_^.
I didn’t use XBMC for music though since usually I’ll be doing other stuff on my pc when listening to music so I just stick to WMP. I know P is to pause and X is to stop but that’s for videos not sure if it works for music
Man been going on and on and on on this thing and is driving me nuts…been trying to fill those sections of the tv shows and movies and nothing works. Have been looking around that forum and well and came up with nothing. It always says populate it via the the videos section or something like that, so I go there search like crazy and nothing, really this is driving me nuts @_@
@Belela-san~sent you an email, hopefully it helps you in setting up your XBMC
Maybe you could share your “Fanart” (Background) for XBMC Aeon. That would be cool.
I start to setup mine too. Aeon is just too beautiful. Hard to setup without help (for TV show, at least).
valho, mind sharing the info you sent with Belela-san? (I found this page when googling for that very question)
@AsakuraYoh~sure I’ll put up the fanarts I have for download later.
