Photo outing @ KL Bird Park
The second Lowyat.net photographers outing was held on Saturday 19th, the destination this time was KL Bird Park, seems like the birds at the National Zoo was not enough to satisfy our craze for some bird shoot
. More forumers and their spouse atteded this time totaling to about 30 people. I see some familiar faces and some new faces, and not only that, there are new gears to test out as well.
As usual everyone meet-up at the entrance, getting to know each other, and testing out other photogs new gear. This was taken using weileongz Canon EF 70-200 f/4 L lens. Subsequent photos are taken with the same lens as well.
Lets start it off with a peacock in all its majestic beauty.
Another peacock, the 70-200 f/4 L produces a nice bokeh effect. I keep forgetting that the lens doesn’t have IS so got some blur photos sometimes.
The Great Hornbill.
Flamingos, not as much as the National Zoo though.
Little white birdie.
Another little white birdie, there’s a lot of them at the park.
Brunch time, yummy…
Brahminy Kite, also known as Red-backed Sea-eagle.
This was shot using my Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro lens, so are the subsequent photos until I change to the EF-S 55-250mm lens. Was using manual focus for this shots.
Some macro goodness at the bird park.
Two colorful little birdies.
Yellow birdies, reminds me of Tweety bird.
Little white bird all alone, this was taken using the EF-S 55-250mm lens.
Close-up using the EF-S 55-250 lens.
I wonder if there’s eggs under there.
This would have been a nice shot if the focus was on the eye and not the feather.
Not sure what bird is this but looks kinda funny.
Green birdie.
At the bird show, the parrot arranging the word welcome.
Weee….
Parrot driving a jeep.
In flight…
Poor little monkey, according to the staff there, the little monkey was left alone by her mum, so sad.
Macro on yellow flower, back to using 100mm macro lens.
As usual the group photo.
Another great outing, and this time some of the photogs came with new gears, so we got to try it out as well. This time I was using three different lens for the shoot, a 70-200mm f/4 L, a 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS, and my own 100mm f/2.8 Macro. Camera still the same EOS 400D/Rebel XTi.

Wow so many great colors! Don’t know what kind of bird are the two colorful ones (blue/gray and green/yellow), maybe a sort of parakeet, but love that picture ^^”
Oh we have those little yellow birdies (Tweety bird) here on sale at pet shots we call it Caturras. I had one unfortunately he died few months later due to a strange disease but a friend of mine has one two for almost 4 years, now the only thing left is my gray parrot
